Pull on plunger to withdraw proper vitamin B1. Use thumb and forefinger of non- injection hand to hold skin of injection site tight. Inject needle at a right angle. Hold needle in place and push down on plunger to insert all of solution. Remove needle at the same angle of insertion. Apply pressure with cotton ball or adhesive bandage to stop any bleeding. Tips to Remember. While learning how to inject B1. Hold the skin taut to prepare the muscle for injection. Tightened skin makes it easier to insert the needle at the correct angle. Inserting the needle at a right angle and withdrawing it at the same angle reduces the pain felt. If done properly the injection will barely be felt at all.
